Letting it Go Guide

This guide is meant to be a catalyst for self awareness. Another tool in your spiritual toolbox. Rituals that incorporate the natural cycles of the earth, stars and moon are a great way to connect inward. Think a Yoga practice for your brain.

Intention

It Is Time to Let it Go.

Developing a spiritual practice that incorporates love, beauty, time, intention and nature is so powerful for healing and moving forward.

Use this guide to create your own practice. Take what works for you. Add what will bring meaning and authenticity to YOUR ritual.

Taking the time to check in with your spirit is so important to thriving in this modern world.

It’s a Full Moon. It’s a Lunar Eclipse. It is time to Let it Go.

Set the mood. Light some candles. Get some pen and paper.  Put on some music. Make it cozy. Also grab a bowl of water and a bowl of rice. Let’s get started!

First Step

Self Cleansing Blessing

Use an incense or smudge stick while you recite:

I cleanse myself of fear, anxiety, resentment and pain. I release all thoughts, situations and energies that are no longer of service to my highest and greatest good. And so it is.

Step Two

Blessing to Cleanse Your Space

Use an incense or smudge stick, spread the smoke throughout your space while you recite:

I cleanse this space with light and love. Only love may dwell here. Only light may live here. My space is cleansed. My space is pure. My space is protected. And so it is.

Meditate

A big part of this particular eclipse is LETTING IT GO. Letting go of the past, so you can GROW into your best self.

Find a comfortable place and meditate. If you find that you need some guidance go to YouTube and search for a guided meditation to follow.  Choose one that will help you let things go.

Gather you bowl of water and your bowl of rice. Think of the grains of rice as the very things that you want to let go.

Next Step

Cast It Away

As you take pinches of the rice with your fingers and drop it into the bowl of water say what it is you are letting go.

“I release and let go of my fear of not being good enough or worthy enough to meet my goals.”

Now, take a piece of paper and write down all of the things that are holding you back from healing. The resentments, relationships, hurt feelings. All. the. things.

Write them down on little strips of paper. Take the strips of paper and hold one to the flame of the candle. As the paper ignites in flames recite:

“I release and let go. I am ready to move on. Thank You.”

Write them down on little strips of paper. Take the strips of paper and hold one to the flame of the candle. As the paper ignites in flames recite:

“I release and let go. I am ready to move on. Thank You.”

Place the burning paper in a bowl of water

Repeat this process until you get to the last strip, the recite:

“This cycle has ended. A new one can now begin. It is brighter. I am lighter. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Once the paper stops burning, take your finger and begin swirling the water around in a circular, anti-clockwise motion. As you do, say the following or feel free to say whatever you feel in the moment-

“I am cleansing. I am letting go. I am releasing all that must go. My life is free, my light is clear. I am not one to succumb to my fear. I know the path forward, I know where my journey goes, Universe guide me so I may grow. I am open to the light. I am open to the love. I am open to the wholeness that flows from above. I am authentic me, I love myself and my life. Mother Moon, I thank you for this cleansing, thank you for this light. I am me. I am whole, and I trust the way in which the wind blows.”

Final Step

Now, take a drop of the essential oil you are using and place it into the bowl. The essential oil will lift the vibration of what is inside the bowl. Now take your finger and stir the water in a clockwise direction. As you do this, just take 10 deep long breaths in and out. Try to clear your mind as you do this.

Once you have completed the process – take the water, rice and burnt paper and pour it in your garden or bury it in the earth.

Books & Oils: Jane Eyre & Ylang Ylang

Orphans. Governesses. Inspirational Teachers. All things moody and Victorian. Jane Eyre, my favorite book from the Brontë sisters delivers the most epic/tragic tale of love and longing. I must say that reading this as a full fledged adult is a different story than...
